Yuri HOPN
Yuri Romagnoli is an Italian artist who paints on walls using art as a transmitter. He signs with his first name transcribed in Cyrillic, юрий, and uses three colours, red, white and black, to clearly state his thoughts: "I attended the Art Institute of Ancona, at that time I studied the political propaganda posters in the dictatorships of the thirties. I noticed that the massive use of these three colors was repeated everywhere. They amplified the message you wanted to convey, so I adopted them to convey my 'creative propaganda', my artistic politics". Yuri's bicycles and his extravagant characters on two wheels ironically distort and destroy the dictatorships of the modern world which often take the form of abandoned, unpacked and piled up cars.
